Logitech setpoint settings for MC12
« on: March 30, 2007, 02:42:45 pm »

I read sirmikey's post about getting the media control buttons on a logitech keyboard to work with MC11 (http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=34301.0). These settings did't work for me in MC12, so I made some changes to make it work. This is tested on my Logitech LX500 keyboard.

Find the file C:\Program files\Logitech\SetPoint\players.ini

Under the [Players] header:
Add:
Code:
JRMedia=wac,Media Center 12.exe,MJFrame,xxx,xxx,10001,10000,10002,10004,10003,0,1,Media Center 12

Under [Players.Display] add:
JRMedia=Media Center 12

Under [Players.IsRemote] add:
JRMedia=True

Hope this can help others...

We actually try to register ourselves automatically with SetPoint if it's installed.  We'll see if we can revise the code to incorporate your changes.

Thanks.

Is there anything news about this point?
I bought a Logitech DiNovo Edge and trying to make the media buttons (F5 to F8) work - changing the "Media key mode" does not help.
thx

Just to confirm that I installed a Logitech diNovo keyboard today and then updated MC.  The media keys DID NOT WORK until I made Jan's changes.  So, MANY MANY thanks to Jan (and SirMikey)because I was a bit gutted when I noticed the media keys weren't working while MC was unfocussed.

I tried the WIKI stuff first but the page is a very long winded way of saying (without Jan's updates) the only way to get the media keys to work is to disable SetPoint.  Jan's information should be copied to the wiki.

Thanks Mark. I liked the addition to the "Drive Failure" page too: short and to the point.

You're welcome.  I did consider starting a Backup page (covering library location/regkeys etc) off the FAQ but it mentions a preference for existing entries so I didn't bother :)

Hey.... a couple of questions due to the new version of setpoint:

1- There is a new version of setpoint (4.24) which allows SEEKING by pressing the NEXT button longer. Can this be incorporated in the players.ini somehow??

2- I am running Vista x64 and made the changes as proposed. However Media Center only reacts when it is the focused application. Does anyone know a solution for this?

Thanks already for your answers...

Hi there,

Yes, that would be cool as I just stole the diNovo stuff from my wife. She should be fine with classic cabled keyboards and mice.   ;)

Thanks and best regards,

Hi everyone,

I'm using MC24 and a Logitech keyboard, and it seems like either using the above mentioned solution (obviously changing "12" to "24" where applicable in the players.ini file) no longer works for the newer versions of MC and SetPoint, or I'm doing something wrong. If anyone could help it'd be greatly appreciated, thanks!
