ifi Zen Signature V2
« on: November 20, 2021, 07:07:01 pm »

Hi All,

I just bought a Zen Dac Signature V2 and am using it in a home theatre (in place of an Audioquest Cobalt, which replaced an Oppo 105).  With the Zen, I have lost volume control.  I've been to ifi.com and have installed the latest driver.  The only way I've found to regain volume control is to select System Volume in MC.  Player~Volume~System Volume.  Don't really like that.  It does not sound as good and it's lower volume.  Before I was using Internal Volume.

EDIT:  Actually, selecting System Volume doesn't restore control of volume.

Is there something to do to regain control of volume while MC volume is set to Application Volume and the Zen Dac?

Have you tried setting the MC volume to disabled? This should give the Zen complete volume control and remove any extra layers.

Internal volume is working now.  Suspect I had overlooked something before.  My bad.
