When I connect a Bluetooth device to my PC Media Center begins playback automatically, even if it is closed at the time.

How do I prevent this?

The devices are several: JBL Charge Bluetooth speaker, Sony stereo with Bluetooth, and others. If the Bluetooth is turned on in my PC and I activate a bluetooth device that had been paired with the PC, MC begins playback.

As far as settings, Windows only shows Disconnect and Remove. In MC, I find no settings under Audio - Device or elsewhere that looks to be applicable. Can you be a bit more specific please?

Power up the stereo and MC auto-starts playback still.

I can find no settings in Windows or Media Center related to this behavior.
I'd hate to have to keep Bluetooth turned off on my computer just to avoid this behavior.

Does anyone else experience this?

I don't think this is anything in MC.  Check Bluetooth and Windows settings.

What is Audio Device set to in MC?  Try something else.

MC was set to an active zone that uses a different device but was not currently playing.
Upon powering up any Bluetooth device that had been paired, MC pops up and begins playback. MC is NOT the default for any file type, I have no file associations linked to MC.
Somehow, having a device connect causes MC to respond.

If that doesn't fix it, it's likely that you have some other app/tool that is issuing the PLAY command when a BT device connects. It may be some config tool that came with the machine or your Keyboard config tool for instance. Explore the icons in your system tray and check if any of them has an option for that.

I have had AutoPlay set to OFF, so that is not the issue.

In either case, I do appreciate the effort.

Tools > Options > Audio > Audio Device

What is it set to?  It should be a hardware audio device on your PC.  Check both lines.

I have a number of Zones, each is set up for a different audio device. One for my headphone amp, one for the home stereo, and one for a Bluetooth speaker.
