Problem with Spotlight in Display View
« on: May 05, 2023, 04:24:37 am »

For some very obvious reasons the Spotlight Button is not present in either of the 2 Display View Variants. But if somebody does a "Slow Left Click" in the PlayerBar Display Panel while Display View is being used a new Spotlight Tab gets opened in Standard View, which of course means the user has to Exit Display View to be able to View the Spotlight Tab/Page.

Do you not want the Spotlight page to be launched in the background?

Since Display View doesn't have a spotlight button anywhere on the screen my personal preference would be to have the slow-left-click option removed.

Although I must admit there a few items on the Player-Bar Display panel left-click menu that probably should also be removed from Display View because they also require the user to return to Stanard View to see the results of using those options

The other Alternative would be for MC to automatically switch from Display View to Standard View, or Cover View or Standard View when an option that only works in Standard View is selected;i.e Selecting the Tag Option from the left-click menu in either Display or Cover View.

Build 9 will disable Spotlight launch and hide menu items when in Display or Cover views.  Thanks.
