JRVR Deinterlacing and 1080i
« on: September 13, 2023, 08:25:43 pm »

I have some videos that are 1080i (PAL), and the deinterlacing options in JRVR don't seem to be able to eliminate the lines (looks like faint scanlines).  Is there an option to further improve it, or a shader that will help, or is that as good as I can get them?  Thanks for any help you can offer.

In the JRVR settings under Processing/Filtering, did you try to change between using YADIF and D3D11 Hardware Deint?

YADIF is more consistent and may offer better quality, depending on your GPU and what its hardware deint does.

Its also possible that the video was encoded badly, and the lines are baked into the image, in which case its a bit of a lost cause without extensive re-processing.

Thanks for the reply.  Yes, I tried both of the deinterlacing options.  You are probably right that this is the best these will look, although they were supposed to be direct bluray rips.  Thanks again.
