Slash vs Backslash -> Migrating Library from Mac to Windows
« on: February 19, 2024, 03:13:56 am »

Hi everyone,
I own a master license and shifted my main computer from a macBook to a Windows machine. Currently I'm running MC30. I can upgrade though.
I'm having trouble with Play Now and editing tracks:
New files have a filename containing slash instead of backslash.
This allows playback but fails when applying library tools and writeback.

Steps done so far:
1. I imported the mac library
2. I changed and corrected the path with Library tools. Existing tracks have the correct path using backslash.
->. New tracks always contain slash within filenames instead of backslash.

Creating a fresh library on Windows fixes this. A new library will use backslash and library tools would work.

How can I change slash to backslash as default within MC?

Thank you !  :)

Find a file called 'platform.jmd' in the Library folder, edit it to set "[Platform]=Windows"
This should be automatic in an upcoming release, I think Hendrik is working on it.
