This DVD disk can not be accessed (problem)

How can i fix this. the error reads this:

This DVD disk can not be accessed
Either your system is missing some components for playing DVD video, or another application is currently using those components.

I have no idea how to fix this, ive tried a few different things, WMP9 wont even play DVDs. please help

Sounds like you have no DVD decoders installed... You do understand that WMP9 / MC / Zoom Player / Etc are directshow players and rely on the DVD decoders installed on your system currently ?

I get the same errror and WinDVD is installed and plays fine.

Well if you have WinDVD installed and working and you dont have WMP9 working due to not finding any decoders thats very odd...
