Portable installations and auto-import directories
« on: March 26, 2024, 03:10:06 pm »

Hello,

Would it be possible for the directories used for auto-import to make use of (Install Drive) at all for a portable MC installation?

I have a portable installation on a USB drive that migrates between a work laptop and my personal laptop.  On one computer, it ends up appearing as D:\ and on the other as E:\.  I don't have admin rights on the work laptop, so I cannot change the drive assignment there.

Playback and all other library manipulations (e.g., moving or renaming files) work perfectly with (Install Drive):\ as the start of file paths.  The auto-import directories, though, don't adapt.

Thanks for any considerations,
  Matt

Thanks for the suggestion.  I'll try to hook that up today.

Anything unique one needs to do to trigger the new install-relative behavior for auto-import?  Should I recreate the desired list of import directories?

Thanks!

Yeah, you'll probably need to recreate the list.

Working nicely on the first laptop.  Screenshot below.

I'll try out the other one (with a different drive letter) later today.
