Playing .M2TS Movie Files
« on: March 24, 2024, 12:00:53 am »

Hi,

I'm aware MC Linux doesn't support 'Play Bluray Using Menus'.
I Do Full UHD Disk Backup using MakeMKV.
Movies that are only 1 file play with no problems.. I just do File/Open Media File

Below is for Movie rips where the movie files (.m2ts) are more than one file.
I found the correct .mpls file in the playlist folder that corresponds to the movie only.

When I import this 00800.mpls playlist file using File/Import Playlist, JRiver imports it into the movie section
though keeps saying 'Something went wrong with playback' when clicked. I can see that It is associating index.bdmv
with that import which obviously won't work as that is the 'Play Bluray Using Menus' file.

When I try to play MovieObject.bdmv it's the same error.

The standard player that came with my Linux distro seems to play the movie double clicking either 00800.mpls
in playlist folder or MovieObject.bdmv in the parent folder.

Are there any options in JRiver Linux to play Movies that have more than 1 .m2ts movie file in the 'stream' folder..
using the playlist file or another way?

Thanks,

Jason V

On Linux you'll likely have to rip them to MKV files using MakeMKV. MC on Linux and Mac can't open DVD/BD disc structures or images like ISOs, that's only possible on Windows.

I don't work for JRiver... I help keep the forums safe from "male enhancements" and other sources of sketchy pharmaceuticals.

Thanks,
My linux distros standard Media Player (MPV Media Player) seems to play both the MovieObject.bdmv
and the .mpls playlist file with no problems, joining all the separate videos together using the playlist file.
Hopefully it will be possible on JRiver Linux one day.
