Windows WASAPI driver for AirPods Pro 2 broken?

I bought a pair of AirPods Pro 2 a couple of days ago. The Direct Sound driver works fine, but when I use the WASAPI driver I get breakups, distortion, and brief disconnects. Everything is Bluetooth 5.3. The driver works as expected in foobar2000.

Any suggestions?

You can try changing the buffer size in the output device settings, sometimes larger or smaller can have an effect depending on the hardware.

Great suggestion. Reducing the buffer to 25 milliseconds eliminated all the problems.
