When client is connected to JRiver instance via access key, the PNP gets out of sync and displays information for wrong track

I've seen two variations of this:
1) When client changes from current to next track the PNP displays the information for the prior track in the playlist as next begings playing.

2) After completing playback of one album and then starting playback of a 2nd album, somehow the PNP displays track information for the 1st album as if it is still the current album playing.

Thanks

I have seen something similar too.
For me it is when I am connected as a client to a MC server and then playing to a DLNA zone.

A new "Sidebar" skin has been added in build 32 which is reminiscent of the old Windows Sidebar gadgets.  It uses some of the new features supported in the PNP: volume slider and playlist tracks popup.

In the playing now pop up, the expression/field for time of the file is [Duration].  In the popup, "top toolbar" the expressions for elapsed time and duration are {e} and {t} which also seems to match the tutorials for skins.  For the playing now pop up the {e} and {t} do not seem to work (I replaced those where [Duration] was).   Is there a way to show elapsed time in the playing now popup.  I have a feeling I am missing something.

Modified - should have been put in the Skins area.  Sorry.

Just discovering this new feature. This is maybe my favorite addition to MC in a while.

That said, for future development, the popping in and out is a bit visually jarring compared to functionality of similar popups. If the rendering engine supports it, I recommend allowing the popup to fade in and out (transition from 0% opacity to 100%, hold, and back to 0%). If fade is not possible, suggest animating it moving on and off the screen, but that's complicated by being able to position it anywhere on the screen, so direction of travel would probably have to be selectable as well.

Agree with @Marko that it would be much more intuitive and better UX if we could move it freely by just click-dragging the popup, even if you want to add a right-click lock position toggle option to prevent unwanted displacement.

I also recommend adding position presets such as lower-left corner/lower-right corner, center screen, etc. as those are likely going to be the most commonly selected positions and it's pretty awkward to nail the exact corner positions.

Just upgraded to v33, and like the playing now popup.

I've noticed some oddities... I normally use "stop after current" to stop playback.  When I do, the popup displays for the next track, as if it was being played. Doesn't seem like it should. It also appears when I switch libraries. Doesn't seem like it should do this either.

Loving it, good job!

Also having a similar issue as EdBrady above, even without "stop after current". When playback of the final track ends (usually a few items manually added to the current Playing Now list), the pop-up appears one more time (without audio playback), showing the first item in the Playing Now list.

Personally, while initially surprised, I now consider it a friendly feature to always briefly see what is cued up next, even at the end of a playlist or stopping track.  In my typical use case, when the PNP's Play/Pause button displays the "Play" state image, it signals probable completion of a playlist.  This is further verified in the PNP's display of the Special Expression - Playing Track #/Total # Tracks - "[pn_position]//[pn_count]" = 1/N, and Time - Elapsed Time/Total Time - "{e}/{t}" = 0:00/Duration.  Showing the PNP at that point also makes it especially easy to restart the playlist, or start replay at a particular track if the PNP's CurrentPlaylist feature is enabled.

However if PNP is set to remain open for a long time, I can see how this "feature" might turn into an annoyance at the end of a playlist or stopping track.  And as you say, some people simply prefer not to see the PNP at that point in their use case.

Seems like a new option in the PNP settings menu is needed to control display after an "internal" Stop, such as:  "[x ] Display after playing completes".
Normally when Playing, Paused, or Immediately Stopped by a UI hit, the Display Mode state controls PNP display.

11/17/2024 Update for clariication.
11/20/2024 @cncb Thanks for implementing this option in Build 33.0.43.  Works very nicely.

We had it this way before (not showing when it is stopped) but I'm pretty sure someone requested it to show even when not playing.  We can add this as a setting.

Thanks for adding this option.

.. someone requested it to show even when not playing.

That's in direct contrast to the actual "Playing Now" name. :P

Next build (43) has this option which defaults to no (do not pop up when stopped).

At present it takes 2 operations to Disable a Popup that is currently open - 1 to bring up the settings page to switch the popup to Disabled and then a 2nd operation to close the open popup.

Is there anyway that setting the Popup to Disabled also closes an open Popup or alternatively by adding a Close Button to the Settings Form/Window that is only visible if the setting is set to Disabled
