iOS 18.2.1 Network Problems
« on: January 27, 2025, 03:01:15 am »

The latest version of JRemote 3 is having trouble connecting when running on (at least) iOS 18.2.1.

It is essential that you read this thread first:  https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php/topic,140483.0.html

Try a Google search on iOS 18.2.1 network problems to see what others are finding.

Do you have a VPN?  If so, delete it from your phone.

Full version of MC and OS of the server you're connecting to.

There are two other threads here that I'm locking.  Please do a Google search and then report here.

Hi

I am running MC 32 on Windows - iOS 18.2.1: Panel works fine. JRemote can not connect. I have no VPN.

In the iOS-menu: Settings\Apps\JRemote I can not give access to local network (se attached 1)
Access to local network is granted in Settings\Privacy and Security\Local Network
In this folder JRiver is not listed, so it is not possible to allow access to local network (see attached 2)

What to do?

(PS: Running a Danish iOS - hope the menus are translated correct)

It’s weird
I have the same problem
In this folder JRemote is not listed, so it is not possible to allow access to local network
How do to have local network selection on iOS 18.2.1 ?

I don't understand why you don't have the local network access switch in your 18.2.1 iOS settings for JRemote.
Both of you, look for a PM (personal message) from me.

Oh that's good to hear, hopefully it works for Lars too and the beta can be pushed out to stable soon.

My problem was the inability to connect directly on the local network with JRemote. I was forced to set up port forwarding and use the access key to connect. This allows connections from outside my local network which I did not want. Today's version 3.44 update solved the problem. I responded to the local network prompt, deleted the port forwarding setup on the router, and can now connect only from within the local network. (My original post and replies are here: https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php/topic,140434.msg974013.html#msg974013).
Thanks for the update, solved the problem!
