33.0.56 on MacOS 15.2, M1 Max, 64GB RAM, 4TB ssd - app hangs on ⌘Q. Requires force quit (⌥+⌘+Esc) and shows "Not Responding" while mouse-over just beachballs.


I rebooted and the issue seems random - no idea what conditions causing it, and MC is only app that hangs when this happens. Happy to provide any other troubleshooting steps / logs / system info you might want me to collect. Or, if you have a link to an existing post about what exact logs / info you usually need captured in order to examine issues, please share that and I'll start collecting that stuff for you.

Are you running media server?
Are you connected to a media server on a different machine?
⌘Q should do the same as Media Center 33->Quit on the menu bar. Does it?
Turn on logging under Help and grab a log.

All media is local.
Yep, Quit on menu and cmd+Q are the same - I guess I was being a bit pedantic on my description.
Will try to capture a log and share here - does not happen all the time.

I just checked and the key combo and menu item actually take different exit paths (they really shouldn't though). Are you running MC's media server on start or just MC?

Not sure if this was just a random issue or what - but it seems to work fine most of the time now for me. Perhaps there was another issue on my system causing the beach balling, IDK. I'll keep an eye on things and post logs if it "comes back" or otherwise recurs. Thank you Bob!


PS - no media server - just MC running on my MacBook playing local media.
