Feature request: Gapless MKV
« on: March 23, 2025, 05:52:18 am »

The huge advantage of FLAC files is not only that the tags are included in the files but also that MC can play them gapless.
Unfortunately, this doesn't work with MKVs.
Especially for classical listeners, it would be more than a nice to have feature, since a lot of symphonies e.g. have movements which are composed without a break.

Same here. That'd be a great improvement!

If such a thing is considered, wouldn't it be better to rename your audio MKV files to MKA and use that? I would assuming having doing things like this with primarily a video format could cause issues potentially.

Gapless doesn't work with MKA either.

I've ripped a fair number of Atmos music to MKA and sadly a lot of it would benefit from gapless.

Would be great to see this - there is a lot of Atmos music out now (just ordered Brothers in Arms Atmos.  geez how many versions of this fantastic album do I really need?)  Anyway, I digress..
