Hangs during playback
« on: January 24, 2003, 07:25:36 am »

Media Jukebox  8.0.293
Install Path: C:\Program Files\J River\Media Jukebox\

CPU: AMD Athlon 998 MHz MMX
Memory: Total - 327 MB, Free - 228 MB
OS: Microsoft Windows 2000  Workstation 5.0  (Build 2195)

Internet Explorer: 5.00.2920.0000
ComCtl32.dll: 5.00.2920.0000
Shlwapi.dll: 5.00.2920.0000
Shell32.dll: 5.00.2920.0000
wnaspi32.dll: 4.60 (1020) , ASPI for Win32 (95/NT) DLL, Copyright © 1989-1999 Adaptec, Inc.
Aspi32.sys: 4.60 (1020)

Problem exsist with v8 also.
When in playback, at random times my system halts (hangs) and must be hard rebooted. I've upgraded from WinME to Win2000 attempting to fix the problem. I've used MJ for 2 yrs, problem started about a month ago, after upgrading to v9. Then reverted back to v8, problem persisted.
I've tried shutting down everything else, no help. I've even added memory, more disk space and formated all disks and completely reloaded all software, no help.

wits end :P

Normally hard locks are hardware related.

Maybe a sound card or sound card driver?
