Music Library After Re-Installing
« on: January 20, 2003, 10:43:38 pm »

I have a confusing problem.  Here's my situation.  I have all my MP3s together with the program files of MJ on a seperate partition.  But I had to dump my system partition (c:) and install a new hard drive.  Before I deleted the C: drive I made an image of all its files in case of trouble.  Now I go to open MJ and it says JRImage.dll is missing.  That file must have been installed into the windows directory,  right?  Well,  I now have a new c: drive and hence, a new windows directory.

Can I simply extract this one file from the old image and restore it to the same directory on the new drive,  or are there other files that MJ had installed in windows that will not allow it to work unless the program itself is re-installed?

The simple solution is just re-install MJ.  But,  I did not make a backup of the library files.  If I just re-install MJ in the exact same place where it was,  will it open with the same library as it had before,  assuming I do not delete any of the data files?

Did you back up your library? If so, reinstall, and then restore your library.

Oh, wait, you said that you didn't. Sorry, I need to read more thoroughly :-/

I believe no back-up means you will have to re-import.
