With version 8 ther is setting for the encoder in Tools/Options

Those setting doesn't exist anymore in version 9

I found the similar settings only when i click on the RIP-CD icon

It's working, but each time I Rip another Cd I have to enter the path for the external Encoder for each CD

What is the solution for that?

Yep, the options have moved but I use the external encoder as well and it's saving my path and parameters just fine.   Might be something goofey with the registry.  I'm going to channel JimH here for a second and suggest  trying a complete uninstall and reinstall.

You found 'em.    You can only get to them via the rip and convert dialogs now.

Hi,

I have the same problem as described above.  I have copied the lame.exe file into the Media Center folder.  Everytime I go to rip a CD, it asks me again to locate the external encoder and I have to re-enter my command line options.  Is there a fix for this coming soon?  If it is a corrupt registry setting, is there a way to fix this myself?

I'd try a complete uininstall checking the "Remove registry entries" box, then reinstall.

You know you don't have to use the lame encoder as an external encoder, right?  MC uses lame as it's standard mp3 encoder.  If you want to use the latest lame executable you can simply copy over the one that lives in the plugins directory.  You can give it custom command line parameters by selecting "Custom" in the drop down instead of a specific bit rate.
