I know this issue in the past has raised a lot of opinions but a small GUI change here I think would be extremely useful and helpful to allow for faster and quicker changes to our searches and to help them give better results.
I personally would LOVE to see next to my search bar a tiny little double arrow thing like we used to have on MJ 8 that opened up the 'advanced' search box we used to have.
This time however I would like the new area that opens up to be a space below the search bar with all the modifier options listed. I would have things like:
Full Albums [checkbox]
List Results To [textbox] [list menu]
Sorting [no idea as this right now is just a text box and I have NO idea what valid entries could be]
Then the equivalent to a <.hr> tag in the GUI with: Location below it with check boxes for all the areas.
By having it as an extra menu that can be hidden or shown at the users discretion you are not doing something that would hurt ANYONE (unless they really are offended by the tiny button to make this appear and disappear). People that wanted it like this could have it, people that didn't wouldn't have to.
I also think the wizard button needs to 'really' be redesigned as far as the position of which menu going where. Preferably let us decide what goes where but otherwise I think the WHOLE 'advanced' menu needs to become the top level menu with 'Add Rule' and 'Help' added to it.
Again, this is such an important area however that it might be best to open a thread and ask for other people's opinions.
