OK, this is reaching, I know. But mine will. Right now I use an IR remote for the PC I have built into a metal suitcase and placed under the back seat of my Chevy Suburban. But I will get a cheap PPC for the car and mount that on the dashboard, with NetRemote running. Then I've got the cover art, and I use MC's replay gain.  ;D

Mini-Me (Aka Mastiff)

I have a lap-top that I have hooled up to my car with MJ and it works good also.

That said i was wondering if they will ever do this if they have not done it yet. put a small 1 1\2 - 2 inch Active matrix screen in a mp3 car player so not only coverart can be shown but other info.

Good grief! Maybe I'll have to post a full figure picture of myself one day... It's the first time in more than 25 years anybody has called me small in any way, shape and form!  ;D

As for the MP3 player I think you need to build it yourself, I have looked around a little bit, and there's no such thing as far as I can see.  8)

Yup,
I was considering building one myself.
Put a old desktop case in the boot so it's sitting sideways, fit gps to the computer and add some navigation software. Make my own navigation system which it could display, as well as MJ which I would add voice recognition software to so I could control it with a microphone that I'd fix to the car above my head which would be connected to the computer. The soundcard on the computer would be connected to my stereo's Aux in so that I controlled the sound through the stereo.
I'd then have to have found a display I wanted to use, most probably in order to make my life easier, just buy one of those in car tv screens they're selling these days to fit to your car to watch tv with. Then use a TV out on a graphics card to wire it to the tv screen which would be small but give a pretty clear picture.

Only reason I haven't done it is lack of $$$.
I wouldn't imagine it'd be that hard.
