The slider has always done that on my system.  I don't think it actually changes it (if you back in to the dialog it is still at the setting you left it at) it just looks like it has jumped.  I've always found this a buit wierd but as it doesn't change the setting I have never been too bothered by it.

I don't think 8 has ever done this. The only reason I noticed in the first place was the songs didn't have a four second fade. It was immediate.

Now it seems erratic. I still think there is a bug in this somewhere.
