Anybody know of a good Windows FTP server software package? I'm looking for something that's fairly easy to set up, lot's of features, and most importantly, it has to support SSL. Any ideas?

Take a look at WarFTP Daemon. It's fairly simple to use, or at least it was when I used it some time ago. And best of all, it's FREE!

WS_FTP Server is not free.... it isn't even reasonable IMHO at almost $400.

WFTPD Pro Server by Texas Imperial Software: http://www.ipswitch.com/purchase/products/ws_ftp_server.html supports SSL, $130 for a single license.

I'm surprised that noone has mentioned Guild FTPd (www.guildftpd.com). I've used it for over a year now. It's completely free, very full featured, and easy to manage. One REALLY good thing about it is that it is optimized for use behind a NAT gateway. First, it can be configured to use a defined port range for PASV transfers and to pass your external address to a client who is attempting a PASV transfer. This means that clients who are behind a firewall (and so must use PASV mode) can still upload/download files from your server. Normally, it's not possible to download files from an FTP server if both you and the server are behind a firewall or NAT gateway. Second, it can get your server's external IP address from a DNS name, which makes it compatible with dynamic DNS services like DynDNS.

However, it does not support SSL. In fact, I don't know of any free FTP servers that support SSL.

SSL stands for "secure sockets layer". It is a way of encrypting/tunneling a TCP conversation so that anyone who captures the conversation cannot recover the data in the conversation.
