There was a thread in this forum time ago, but I didn't find it. I think the result of the (as I remember) short disussion was that somebody of the "administrators" sayed, there is nothing written in the ID3Tag, except this, what is shown in the action window tag info.
This is not true. I am using the tool "MP3-Tag-Editor 3.07". After editing the tag of a file in Media Center, there is written "Media Center" in the comment field, but Media Center doesn't show it. Even Winamp (2.91, 3.0, 5 beta1) doesn't show it.
Using an other tag-tool (Mp3-Tag Studio 3) I found out that Media Center creates two new tag frames in the mp3 file after editing it the first time, which are BOTH called "comment". Because the comment field is a standard tag frame, perhaps some programs will run into trouble (as for example MP3-Tag-Editor does).
I do not see any sens in creating this frame. And why does MC not show it, even it creates them?

Action Window > File Properties > File Type Info shows a complete tag dump -- including all metadata.

Tagger and tagger version are written to help find / fix any future or past bugs.

Writing metadata as extra comments is correct.

And, if you wanted to just go crazy, you could create these two fields as regular fields in MC .. and they WOULD be displayed .. and you could edit them .. (of course, MC would overwrite them whenever it updates the tags) ..
