Problems converting to 128Kbps
« on: October 23, 2003, 12:21:45 pm »

I'm converting al my music so I can listen to it in the car.
But since 1 week I can't convert my music any more to 128 Kbps.
As far as I know I didn't change anything.
When I'm trying for example to convert a file from 320Kbps, I'm getting the following error:
Failed to convert, and in the file list "No conversion needed"

I'm using version 9.1.288 with the MP3 encoder version 2.0.58
On Win2000 system with 1Gb of memory and a 40Gb hardisk for only music with about 1Gb of free space.

Just converted a 128 CBR mp3 down to a low quality (~ 107 kbs avg) vbr and then from there to a high quality (~ 136 kbs avg) vbr with no problems using same build/encoder versions you are. I won't punish my ears by listening to it, though. Could your file be read-only? Maybe highlight the file then look at File Type Info in the AW. See if there is anything funky there.
