It would be nice to be able to rate songs when MC is minimized or in mini-me mode, directly from display window when it is either in windowed mode.....or within the mini-me skin.    Does anyone know if this is possible?   Has anyone seen a small footprint trackinfo template that shows only stars for rating the current track?

You could use the keyboard-shortcuts (ctrl+shift + 0-5)

I hadn't thought of that....this works, but you have to click on either the mini-me or the minimized MC in the taskbar to put  MC in focus....  would still be nice to have a trackinfo or vis screen displayed with the stars....and just click on a star for rating.....

You can do this with the Playing Now plug in.  See the third party skins and plug ins board here.

I am using the PlayingNow plugin -- but this flashes info about the track (including ratings) for a short period, and then fades out.  I know I can set the on-time for it, but my understanding (which could be totally wrong) is that the PlayingNow popup window isn't meant to be displayed the entire time a song is playing...right?     What I am looking for is an easy way to have the ratings info displayed the entire time while the song is playing AND while MC is either minimized or in mini-me mode.

There is a great Playing-Now-Skin on the Skins-thread, which displays the current, the next and the previous track.

I use both....task bar..which is very handy as well as Playing now.

task bar controls is a one click rating affair too...no need to be in focus.

Marko posted an idiot-proof guide to installing the task bar controls..not sure if its in the post referenced above..but it got me up & running.

i went through the same process as the original poster..i kept wishing ..why oh why did JRiver not allow a rating interface for mini-me.

something like the blade skin for mini-me with buttons( like task bar controls on it for rating) and a line showing the current track are in IMO all that is needed when one is tackling the Rating Monster.

For now there are taskbar controls & Drowbe's excellent Skin for Playing Now.
