Is it possible to display album tracks in the Action Window for a particular Album when browsing in Album Thumbnails mode ?

It would be easy to add tracks to the PN window this way.

i am aware of the tooltips, but i turn them off as i find they a bit intrusive.

This is a problem for me too.  I turn off tooltips as they still include filename which is too big to fit on screen so it looks daft.

It would be good if we could have a separate option for Album Thumbnail Tooltips so we could have this on whilst Track Info Tooltips is swicthed off.

Don't know if it could be of help for you, but this is how I do it.

I set a view scheme with the following panes:

1.- Genre
2.- Album Artist Auto (you can put Artist if you prefer)
3.- Year - Album (or only Album)
4.- #Track - Name

I have set the lower view to "album thumbnails" and the sort order to "album".

This is a nice view for browsing since you can click on an Artist and see the albums sorted by year in the pane while you see the thumbnails sorted alphabetically by album in the thumbnails view (better if you have a large number of albums by this artist and want to know if you have one in particular).

When clicking on a specific album in the pane, you see the thumbnail in the lower view and the track listing of the album sorted by track# in the far right pane. You can select the tracks you want (the pane allows multiple selection with the ctrl key) and then right click -> Send To -> Play (and chose the option you like).

Nice one Deivit!  So simple and so obvious yet I hadn't thought of adding an extra pane with a calculated field of Track# - Name.

I don't have access to MC at the moment but I'll need to see how well this VS works with hairstyle.  I guess that once you've selected the album you'll see all the tracks but there'll be just one more level for individual tracks that you need not use.  Due to a bug in hairstyle (see bug thread) it will not be possible to play all tracks on the album by selecting play - you'd have to do 'Start selection' then 'Select all'.  The is a real PITA and I hope it's fixed soon.

How does one add the calculated field of Track# - Name ?

I'm using 9.1.302 and dont see Track# - Name in the column list.

i tried using ~sort=[Track #] ..but it does not work

Tools>Options>Tree & View Settings> Add.

The calc field will be [Track #] - [Name]
