Media Center 9.1.315 is available.

This is the latest build.  There may be some known (and unknown) bugs.

We are in the midst of design changes.  Avoid this build if speed bumps could upset you.

Discussion of changes and more info here:
http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?board=3;action=display;threadid=17307

The latest known stable version of 9.1 is here:
http://www.musicex.com/mediacenter/download.html

The latest build of 9.1 is here:

3. Changed: Text displayed for Enter key (in remote control learning for example) changed from Return to Enter.
4. Changed: Added "Escape" key to remote control command list.
5. Fixed: MP3 plugin could crash when decoding a corrupt intensity-stereo frame.
6. Fixed: MC would sometimes forget its last shutdown position and start as the default size and centered on the screen.
7. Fixed: Doing a "Backup Library" wouldn't always include the latest changes to the database.
8. NEW: Redesigned Action Window system.
9. NEW: Redesigned Tagging Mode system.
10. NEW: "New Value" tagging mode item has auto-complete.
11. NEW: In-place editing has auto-complete. (both in file lists and panes)
12. Fixed: If "skip duplicates" option was selected for file conversion tool, it would not allow changing just the bitrate of a file.
13. Fixed: In some cases, MC would submit CD information to YADB incorrectly so that the info for the last track was dropped.
14. Fixed: If you renamed a blank CD, the tree control would revert to showing the previous name.
15. Fixed: Search parser ignores multiple and's in a row. (NOTE: "and" is implied and so never required when entering searches)
16. Fixed: On left button down, it could take a while for buttons to change to the active state in the top playerbar.
17. Fixed: Hairstyle would not play the correct files when selecting "Play" in a file list with nothing selected.

Interesting changes to the Action Window.  The more I mess with it, the more I like it.  Definitely more flexible than it was before.

I also like the new Action Window -- it's sort of like the Outlook Bar in Outlook, with the "collapsable" modules....

I also like the improvements in the Tagging Mode, but I would suggest taking out the "New Artist" and "New Album" entries while  tagging mode is turned off. I thought I had mislabeled an album when I saw that entry there!   :-[  or maybe just put it in brackets or parentheses. I know you guys are still working on it, BUt I just thought I'd mention it.

Great work!   ;D

Matt- don't know if this is considered a bug or if I should have started a thread.....

If you remember my comments on the move of the search bar I mentioned I don't use mini-me. Well I got to wondering why I don't so I gave it another try and it came back to me.

When using any mini-me skin with a playlist view the playlist view resets to the top on every track change. ie. If your playlist is longer than the view scroll to the bottom. Play say the third track from the end. When the track ends and the next track begins the playlist view refreshes and throws you back to the top. Would it be possible to skip the refresh or have te view return to the previous location after?  This would make mini-me more useable for me.

I can't minimize AW???

Same here and it's hogging up space. I never liked the action window much anyway. What I would really like is the ability to turn off the Action Window as I don't use it much, or at least have the ability to customize what I can do with it. In any event right-clicking is easier for me.

Lisa,

I noted the same thing...  I renamed the "Custom Art" folder (in order to temporarily return to the standard MC icons) and all was well.

I don't even remember who put together the "new" artwork - but I hope he's willing to make the required adjustments (assuming JRiver can't fix the problem from within MC)..

Just wanted to say thanks. This build rocks. I have a networked setup where all my media is stored on a linux file-server, and on all previous builds it took a bit of time to show the info on each song. This build fixed the problem. It's quite speedy, and the new integrated tagging mode is a genius idea. Nice work.

The only bug that keeps affecting me is that when I'm in My Computer, the search is kinda funky. If you were typing our the word "Zeppelin" inside it, it highlights the "Ze" by the time I get to the p's, so I can never type the full thing. I find this really odd because the search in the main media library never highlights what's being typed. It seems I'm not the only one with this problem, though.

Thanks again, Jeff

This seems to be messing up the other skins :(

At this late a stage in the v9.1 development, changes that are ruining the skins are a bit scarey as it'd put off people from making skins as they dont know how long their skin would work for.

It also means that we lose all skins except the default ones unless the skin authors are still floating around and have enough time to fix the problems.

Having said that, the AW window is a BIG improvement and WOW.

BUG:
Not mentioned so I'd presume the bug in the SDK with MJViewItemAutomation still exists and is still causing problems.

Also - the 'Tag Info' toolbar button no longer seems to work - please dont remove this as I still like having a one click way to jump to tagging mode no matter what I'm doing.

Bug:

3D Visualisations not working any longer!

Don't know if this is only in this release or already in earlier releases!

All 3D visualisations appear just in white (white cube) and one selection crashed MC9.1

Moving Files within MC rightly detects that the folder is empty and offers to delete it - clicking yes Deletes the folder but the 'My Computer' view still displays the folder there. Could it be deleted automatically as well just to clear it up?

And well done!! - MC waits till the currently playing file has finished playing before trying to move it so as to avoid generating an error - nice touch !

Bug:

1)  Scrollbar is always shown in the new A/W pane.

2)  In the A/W click on file properties, statistics then albums.   Now if you hit the mouse back button (on mice that have it, e.g. MS Intellmouse Explorer) you are taken to the top level of the A/W and not the previous level.

Also are you going to allow multiple action windows so you can have one view on the tags and another on, say, the image or file type info?

My iPod had to go through an initialize, thinking there's a bug with the new iPod plugin (not sure what).  Anyways, disregard this bug then since it worked fine after initializing it.

Alt + Enter no longer brings up Tag Info and there is no way to hide the AW.
