Backing up 9.1
« on: December 21, 2003, 12:29:24 pm »

What gets backed up in 9.1316 using Library\Backup Library? (Or, easier, what is NOT backed up!) Eg. are View Schemes backed up? Do I need to backup anything separately from the J River folder? Thanks!

To save your settings, back up this registry key...
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\JRiver\
and import it after installing windows.

As for the library, yes, MC's library backup saves your library, basically, it saves what you see in the tree. To get all of your customisations however, think about making a manual backup of the entire ..\program files\...\MediaCenter\Data\ directory, this will ensure you don't lose any coverart etc., and also, if you have any skins addded, back up the mega and mini skins dir's too.

You should be good to go after that  :)
[does the library backup include all the removable cds/dvds i have, that is all the volume # etc it automaticlly stores in the library evrytime i insert a new cd?]
Yes.

View schemes/view panes are backed up with the library, but I think the columns and column sorting is stored in the registry... so I'd highly recommend backing it up too. Other than that, the only things outside the J River folder I can think of would be your music, and maybe cover art (my cover art is stored with my music.)
