MJ only burning one directory
« on: December 01, 2002, 10:32:59 am »

Having a little problem with MJ, first a little history. P4-1.7 Win XP Home

Still in trial version, used 8.0.388, LiteOn 1210C burner, and was able to burn a data CD with MP3s without a problem.  One main directory, 10 subdirectories under main, mp3s in those subs.  Fills up a 700MB disc, and everything worked fine.

Upgraded to a new Burner, Memorex 52MAXX 2452AJ.  Install went fine, burns fine with Nero that was included with the burner.  However, with MJ when I tried to burn the exact disc that worked for the LiteOn burner it does the following:  One main directory, only 1 subdirectory, mp3s for that sub.  Still fills up the disc according to windows, but only 1 directory is still there.

I've tried different burn speeds, media, etc. with no luck.  As I said , the burner burns fine with Nero, and all the drivers for it seem correct.  Upgraded to MJ 8.0.392, same results.......

I really like MJ and would like to make this work....Help!

With MJ were all the files burned to the disk?

Figured it out!!!! This is a weird one......

The subdirectory that worked was one that had gotten all uppercase letters assigned to it and the MP3s underneath when it downloaded the CD information from YADB when I ripped them onto the harddrive.  The other subs were all mixed case.  Changed the uppercase titles to mixed case and it burned like a champ........

Like I said, this is a weird one.  Why didn't it do this with the older slower drive when making the same data cd?  Could it be that the older drive is in MJ's accepted CD-RW list while the new Memorex uses the "Generic Driver"?

Thanks,

Frank
