MJ does not write CD text
« on: January 25, 2004, 11:54:27 am »

I finally got MJ 8 build 400 to create CD directly from .ape files.
My CD writer is CD text capable and all CDs made with Roxio
had CD text (track labels) on them. The CD made with MJ 8, had
CD text was missing. Is there any way I can have MJ to write CD text.

Another thing, I had to check "generic driver" to get CDs to burn,
but this oprion unchecked "2 second gap between tracks".

Can someone shed more light on this.

yes, the Burner driver in MC10 is better, and MJ8 did not always support drives and or CDtext with drives that supported it.

The burner driver in MJ8 was also made 2 years ago, so you can see time is passing by

So I have to buy MC10 to get this basic capbility?
I may not be interested in all the non audio features of MC,
and  MJ is good enough (great) for me.

Let me say that MJ is such a gerat product. Other day someone
gave me his library file from MusicMatch so that I could
see his collection. For that I had to download MusicMatch.
What a dog that product is as compared to MJ. Yet they market
it like crazy and good stuff like MJ is not that popular. MusicMatch has
capability of CD text so I was told.

Back to my issue - what would it take to retrofit MJ with this capabilty?
MJ is still sold and any excuse is lame.

I have been using Roxio for last four years with this capability.
I understand Roxio is a full fledged product but CD text is so basic.

what can i say.

other than if you wish to try MC9 or MC10 out see if it works for you, fine

if not, I do not think you will see a update to MJ8's cd driver.

they already said they will only make changes to MC9 If there is a large bug, and MJ8 is 1 year older than MC9
