WAV files to MP3

Have ripped Cd's in wav format in Media Center - can MC9 convert these to MP3 to burn to cd or transfer to portable. if so how?
Would like to continue to listen to songs as wav at home but want mp3's for road

MC can do it all! you can use the "convert files" tool to convert your wav files to most other formats, some are included when you install MC, others are available as plug-ins and you can also use external proccessing.

You'll have to store these converted files somewhere, one suggestion: store them in a new directory on your HD and creat a 2nd library database. This will keep them separate and easier to keep track of what's what.

Rather than using excessive amounts of disc space keeping uncompressed .wavs, you might consider converting them to a lossless format like Monkey's Audio (.ape). They will take less space, they can be tagged, they will retain the full sound quality of the original .wav and can be easily converted in to mp3 (or any other format you choose).
