Artist Names on Album Cover view
« on: February 03, 2004, 04:24:51 am »

When I view album cover thumbnails, the name of each album appears beneath the cover thumbnail.

How can I change this to display Artist - Album?

Let me know if you find a way, as I don't think there is.  You can narrow down your artist choice in the pane view above, and then the thumbnails will be filtered for just that artist.

I was thinking...in Windows Explorer, you can arrange icons to show in groups, and then they're logically separated and grouped.  What if MC10 mimicked that behavior?  You could pick whatever group suited your needs: Artist, Genre, etc.

Anyone else understand what I'm suggesting?

Well, I've started using the Rhinohumpa's Album View plugin that can be downloaded from the interface plugins page of the Media Center site.

This lets me customise the captions for the album cover thumbnails in it's "overview" window. Nice plugin actually. Although its a bit confusing having a separate database.

Anyway, it lets me do what I was aiming for - display my album covers and play (or cue) a whole album by clicking the cover image.

I also found a seperate program called AlbumPlayer that does a similar thing but uses Windows Media Player 9 to play the MP3s (which I prefer not to use because the gapless playback isn't as good as Media Center 9's).
