Win XP Auto Play

When burning an audio CD the message about shutting auto play off came up. I picked yes and now I cannot re-enable the function. The properties of my removal drives look fine. I'm running 9.1.316 on Win XP Prof. Any thoughts on this?

Tweek UI didn't work.

Microsoft states:
SYMPTOMS
When you insert a CD or DVD into your CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive, you may experience one or both of the following problems:
The AutoPlay function does not work. Programs or files that you expect to start or open automatically do not start or open when you insert the media into the drive.
The CD-ROM or DVD-ROM icon in My Computer is not updated when you change media. For example, if you replace an audio CD with a program installation CD and then open My Computer, the CD-ROM or DVD-ROM icon may still display "Audio CD".
CAUSE
This problem may occur if a background service or program is interfering with the AutoPlay function.

The fix isn't available until the next SP release.

I don't know your level of experience in tweaking the registry, but you may want to check out regedit.com, specifically this thread and this thread.

Also, you can check out this possible fix.

Of course, you should also verify that you have autorun globally enabled.  (HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Cdrom\AutoRun should equal 1.)

Have you tryed uninstalling your drive and driver and let windows reinstall them again in device Manager. I did That before and I'll never do it again . Not to just burn a CD . I burn a Cd this moring and I got that same message . i said oh will , and clicked don't make any changes, and the CD came out find . Last time I turned that off . I could turn back on until I reinstalled windows again . Get that Norton systemWorks it come with Norton Go back so you can Revert your harddrive Its a Life saver easy to use and it's works. For sure.

I think it is the Artist that is creating the problem for you.
