Problem with Forum Search engine?
« on: February 15, 2004, 05:31:41 pm »

Is there a problem with the Forum Search engine. When I  search for a topic using just "search the Subject" option the only returns that I get are instances of the query incluced in the message. I even tried switching the search to just "search the messages" but got the same results. I keep getting search results that have nothing to do with what I am looking for.

Hi.

FWIW, I can't get it to search by author.  I tried to search for all posts by a specific user, and it always returns zero results, whether or not I also include keywords to search for.

Something seems definitely broken.  No problem with other web sites using yabb - just JRiver's.

I've had this problem too.  I think it searches by actual name rather than display name.

While this subject is on the front page, I can't seem to find a way to non-stem search. For example, searching for UNC (no quotes) returned all words with that letter pattern in them--as expected. However, the same thing happened when searching for "UNC" (w/quotes) did the same thing.
