WM radio
« on: March 08, 2004, 07:34:30 pm »

Is it just me and lalittle who can't play WM radio stations?
Is there a JRiver pronouncement on this?
Should I be trying to sort this out at my end?

It plays on my system, but skips some times.  Also the latest versions started opening the Download manager for some reason, whenever you click on a WM streaming link.

The visualizations are not supported.

I found a WMA radio station that did play for some reason, but by far most of the ones I'm trying are not playing -- once again, these are stations that I know played before because I bookmarked them.

I'm confursed why this issue seems to be getting ignored -- nobody from JR is even commenting on whether they're seeing this or not.

Some Windows media audio streams work, while others don't (in the 10.0.84 beta build). The difference seems to be that for some reason MC is seeing some WM audio streams as a "file type" of video (or so says the "file type" field). And of course this field is uneditable so it is not possible as far as I can tell to force MC to use WMA rather than WMV.

Could someone from J River confirm this issue?  Just pull up the list of "Radio Free Virgin" stations and start going down the list.  I used to listen to some of these with MC, and now none of the ones I'm trying (just going randomly through the list) work.

Thanks,

Larry
