I've started to use Web Media a bit more, and it really does look like a completely separate program.

I think the functionality of this web media thing can be duplicated cutting and pasting urls. I have never used it. Does it do anything that we should know? What do you use it for?

For those that would like to see WebMedia changed, what do youthink it should look like?

I too would like to see it changed to be more consistent with the rest of MC, but given that it doesn't deal with organizing files, like most of the rest of MC, I'm not sure what the best way to revamp WebMedia would be.

But I'm sure others have lots of good ideas... :)

I'd like to be able to store custom streams *without* using cookies since they frequently get cleaned out by various processes.

If jriver could just make it so that the name doesn't change for streaming media, I think I'd be pretty much set. I'd like to be able to enter the name of an Internet radio station and not have the artist replace it everytime I listen. Otherwise, I've got to create yet another data field workaround. Otherwise, it would be nice to know why the name does change, is there an advantage I'm not aware of? I want to see artis info when available as the music is streaming but I don't necessarily want this info to change my data.

If the above were "fixed" then I could enter a bunch of stations, give them a genre of Internet Radio and a custom field for multiple styles that would function more like the genre field for a "normal" audio file. The comments field would be nice for additional, free-form info, maybe another field for Web address... Don't know how much more would need to be done.

Pocket, any ideas? Not sure what you think needs fixing.

There is a lot related to shoutcast broadcasting that needs to be done, but I think that is another story...

1) asx streams skips occasionally.

2) The latest versions started opening the Download manager for some reason, whenever you click on a WM streaming link.  Older versions never did that, how do I disable this behavior.  The streams still work if I cut and paste them into the MC without opening the download manager.

3)The visualizations are not supported.

King,

How doesn't it work? (aside from some really annoying preference bugs like not saving that you want to broadcast titles/artists) I've been using WinAmp 5 to broadcast shoutcast for a couple weeks now. Is there something I'm missing?

Also, new broadcasters should note that the DSP plugin doesn't currently work with Winamp 5.x, so you'll have to snag a copy of Winamp 2.7x-2.9x to broadcast with. Again, more info is over in the forums.

If you have it working, they say it does not work.

Ah, that's your problem, you can read!  ;D

I think the problem isn't with WinAmp 5. It is with updating HTML documents. I haven't had any problem with using WinAmp 5 and Shoutcast DSP. That message kept me from trying it out for a while also, then I figured, "this is ridiculous" and it turned out that it was.
