My friends have long been sceptics of my views on convergence. however this weekend i attempted to set them straight.

i invited a bunch round to admire my new TV / MC setup this evening. i had them impressed from the outset with the slideshows and music and everything was going well until i went to stick a .wmv file on.

The audio began to hiccup every few seconds . I must have spent an hour fiddling and rebooting the system, while they watched and laughed. Eventually i came across:

tools > options > playback > video > check the little box

ive never seen this option before. but once i pressed it, everything worked like a charm

In all it took us about 2 hours and 40 minutes to watch a 90 minute movie!

i guess the lesson for me is to read what has been fixed/changed when i download each new beta.
