File Associations and Input Plugins
« on: March 19, 2004, 01:43:28 pm »

I know you guys are very busy trying to get MC10 out the door, but  I just had an idea.

I was told that J River would have to add new file extensions to MC and that to get support for .flac files you would have to host the plugin download.

What if MC's file associates list (tool/options/file associations) were dynamic?  Could it scan the list of currently installed input plugins and extend it's list of file assocations accordingly?

This way if someone writes an input plugin, we don't have to wait for J River to add it to MC,  the plugin only needs to be installed, and you are ready to go.

Thoughts?
