Ripping Problems
« on: April 01, 2004, 09:01:06 am »

So I've been having some issues ripping CDs - perhaps in part through operator error.  If someone can point me in the right direction, I'd appreciate it...

For one, when ripping a whole bunch of CDs in a row, I sometimes run into problems where even though the CD is initially recognized from the online DB, once it starts ripping all of the downloaded track information disappears and it rips as Unknown, track1, track2, etc.  As a related issue, sometimes MC fails to realize that there is a new CD in the drive (I can even try to force update from the online DB and it still won't get it) and all the track listings are those of the previous CD I had in the drive.  I have to remove the CD from the drive and try again for it to recognize it as a new disc.  Also somewhat annoying.

On a usability note, once a CD or track is pending to be ripped, is there any way to remove it from the list?  I have two drives on my system, and so I've been prepping discs in one drive while the other drive rips (haven't been able to get them both to rip at the same time, even though there seems to be an option for it) - sometimes the disc that I put in won't be in the online DB, so I'll want to put it aside so that I can rip it later when I have time to enter the information.  Since I was in the middle of ripping another disc, the tracks get automatically added to the rip cue, and I can't seem to find a way to remove them.  Any thoughts?

Thanks!
