Dell Jukebox
« on: March 08, 2004, 12:56:51 pm »

Our Dell arrived and I tested it with MC 10.0.84 with WMDM enabled. It seems to work OK. What issues are people having and I will check them now that I have a player?

Thanks for buying a Dell DJ and working on integrating it with MJ.

When I plug my Dell DJ into the USB port and open Media Center 9.1.317 I do see the Dell under the CD,DVD & Handheld listing.  The problem arises when I click on the + next to the Dell.  MC locks up and quits about 30 seconds later.

I can't expand the view to see if any of my playlists are being recognized.  I don't see any playlist names when I scoll through the songs listed at the top level in the first column of the main viewing window.

I assume if this problem is fixed then I should be able to create playlists with MC and can quit using MusicMatch.

Thanks for your help.

I think he said it was working with MC10 not MC9

The Dell Jukebox should be recognizable with MC 10 when 'Enable WMDM support' is selected under Options->Devices. I do not think playlists will be  recognized until we write a specific plugin for this device. I will confirm this on Monday.

It is recognizing the Dell using MC9 and I figured that you would need to write code to allow for playlist creation and manipulation.  I just paid for an upgrade from MC8 to 9.
I really don't want to pay for an additional upgrade to 10.  I hope you make any fixes compatible for 9 as well as 10.

Tho' I understand your predicament, as 9 is a "mature" platform I'd be amazed if Steve has the time to make any changes to it.  Particularly as enabling this was a major feature of the version in beta right now.

I am thinking of buying a Dell Jukebox, but I want to make sure it will work nicely with MC10.  I couldn't find any plug-in available and I would like my playlists to be transferrable.

Can you update the status of using the Dell Jukebox with MC10?

The Dell Jukebox is accesible from MC without a plugin, but playlists are not supported until we write a plugin which has not happened yet.  Not sure exactly when this will happen.
