Navigation Question
« on: April 24, 2004, 12:56:38 am »

Used the Trial Period for a while and finally decided to purchase.  Really like Media Center alot with all the choices avaialble.  I've looked at quite a few different jukebox / media players / home theater PC software solutions, and decided upon Media Center.

Been playing with the custom current view using thumbnails, and album art. One thing I havent'y figured out how to do yet to get folder thumbnails to display in custom view, and then once a genre is selected, the sub folders (by artist)  is displayed in thumbnail form. Once the artist is selected, all the albums under the artist will display by cover art.   All my music is organized in folders in this way; by genres, then artist, then album.   I would like to be able to navigate the the artwork (thumbnails as folder.jpgs) in each folder.

I know its kind of trivial, but I spent quite a bit of time finding pictures on the web that best defines each genre as an image, and then again a folder jpeg for each artist (defineately a work in progress!)

You can switch views by doing ctrl-u.  It has several possibilities so keep cycling through it.  Also try the menu View/View Settings/List Style.

More should be found under help in MC.

Thanks for the suggestions, but after more playing around, I don't think what I'm trying to do can be done.  It looks like MC uses the ID3 tags, which is good, and actually the preferred way.  But, I'm trying to navigate usings the folders, using thumbnails view for this one particular instance.
