Burning MusicMatch & Napster Tracks Won't Work

Not sure when it started happening, but I can no longer burn MusicMatch or Napster tracks (iTunes still works) from within MC10.

When I tried, MC 'analyzes' the files, then returns an error that the tracks aren't lisenced for burning and contact the provider.

The same tracks burn fine from withing the MusicMatch and Napster software.  Should this work?  I've found I can burn them, then rip them with MC -- but I believe the sound quality degrades during the process (maybe I'm wrong on this).  It's a pain to do it this way, but possibly this is the only way?

maybe the problem is that they are not licensed to burn?

As I mentioned, they burn from withing MusicMatch and the Napster software.  They were standard .99 per track purchases...  Also, as mentioned, they previously burned from within MC.

I just read the MusicMatch License Rules, And It Does State Once You Have A License For The File, You Can Burn It To CD.

Do you have a license for the file?

If not maybe thats why

If yo do have a license maybe there is a problem.

Action Window > File Properties > File Type Info will report the number of burns left.

It's possible you're out of burns for those files.

The previous posters are right.  This is a problem with MC.

I am also unable to burn legally-purchased Napster tracks using the current MC10, even though I was able to do so with previous (beta) versions.

Napster provides a minimum of five burns per playlist, and I've not come even close to reaching that.  I've only burned each of the songs at issue once or twice previously.

I'm assuming that this new problem is tied to Napster's software version upgrade to 2.5.  I doubt whether they intentionally tried to thwart burning with other software (after all, the tracks have already been legally purchased!), but it may be something you'll have to take up with their engineers.

Try MC's "Update library from tags".  It might work.
