Do tags change when files are moved?
« on: November 15, 2002, 10:15:39 pm »

after i download mp3 files, i usually change tag information such as title, artist etc. in the 'playing Now' page. but i recently found out that when i move the mp3 files to other folder and play, all the information that i modified disappears.  do the files always have to be in the orginal location in order to see the tag info? is there anyway to keep the tag information permanently regardless of the location of files? please let me know. thanks.

Another problem may be that they are "read-only".  Downloaded tracks sometimes get this attribute.

In Windows explorer (shut down MJ first) highlight all of the tracks and then right click and tick the read only box, then apply.

Then do it again taking the tick out of the read only box.

Close explorer, restart MJ and try again
