Trouble with mp3 disc playback
« on: May 02, 2004, 12:26:26 pm »

Hi I have moved onto MJ after having MMJB and itunes. I keep getting the same problem. i am creating mp3 discs to play with my car mp3 head unit but they never quite work properly. I have and still can successfully burn and play these discs from nero, but i want the convenience of burning playlists straight from my jukebox. MMJB would not read in the car, itunes would not burn mp3 discs but would burn audio. Now MJ is burning but when i play in the car about the first 50 tracks get recognised then it just skips the rest. Is this my cdrw drive? If so i dont understand why it works with nero

My system is:

Media Jukebox PLUS 8.0.400
Install Path: D:\Program Files\J River\Media Jukebox\

CPU: Intel Celeron 531 MHz MMX
Memory: Total - 326 MB, Free - 91 MB
OS: Microsoft Windows XP  Workstation 5.1 Service Pack 1 (Build 2600)

Internet Explorer: 6.0.2800.1106
ComCtl32.dll: 6.00.2800.1106
Shlwapi.dll: 6.00.2800.1400
Shell32.dll: 6.00.2800.1233
wnaspi32.dll: 4.71 (0002) , ASPI for Win32 (95/NT) DLL, Copyright © 1989-2002 Adaptec, Inc.
Aspi32.sys: 4.71 (0002)

Mr drive is a cheapie from Watford electronics and shows Aries on the receipt but Atapi on my hardware list and I cant find any drivers or firmware for it anywhere.

I've seen weirdness like this even with Media Center. Of 111 files burnt to an RW, my SlimX 350 said there were 48 there on that disk. When the exact same list on the exact same disk was burnt using RecordNowMax, the 350 saw all 111 of them. RNM supports Drag n' Drop, so I do my playlist creations in MC, then DnD them over to RNM.

Ah I sorted it . I had my drive set on auto config, set it to IDE and it works fine now. Guess I certainly wont be needing MMJB or Itunes anymore!
