mediaserver bitrate conversion
« on: June 20, 2004, 07:12:56 pm »

Can anybody help me with the following:

I have all my audio in ape format. I obviously do not have sufficient bandwidth to stream this through the Internet. How do I get media center to compress these files on the fly?

Thanks

MC won't do that right now.  You can set up a second library, import your ape files and then convert them to something smaller.  Don't delete the original files when you do this and try a few before you do very many.

Thanks for the quick answer. Too bad its a "can't do it" ... Any idea when this might become available?

Maybe some day.  No definite date.
