ID3v2 Tags Problem
« on: November 08, 2002, 04:32:17 am »

There seems to be something wrong with the way the input plugin for mp3 writes IDv2 tags, all other programs that I have (18 of them) can't read them correctly and if I clear the library and re-import the files from disk, neither can MJ, ??
It also refuses to add the ID3v1 tag, simultaneously.

But things get better: If I run a find and replace (from the properties dialogbox), before I clear the library, than the ID3v1 tag is there, if requested in settings, and, gues what?, the ID3v2 is there to and can be read by all other program's, so, don't drop your library before you, externaly, check your tags.

Running version 80.388 with plugin 2.0.70

Or I'm I doing something wrong here?

Hai,

Files where all made with CDex, by me, and where alright before I did import them to MJ.

Think that, after an other look, only the tags of files being affected by an update/rewrite from properties where affected, intend to check this out when I'ff time on Monday CET. If possible i'll post a list of events comming to this conclusion.

Greetings,

Guido

Morning all,

Unfortunately I've not been able to reproduce the problem, fact remains that the backup's are in perfect order and that I've been editing, finding and replacing and changing tag versions all day, including using them both at the same time, last Friday, using nothing but MJ, so, until it reappears I just don't know where to look. Pity MJ does not make use of a real database for its backend, transaction logs would be able to tell me what I've been doing.

Thanks for replying anyway,

Greetings,

Guido
