I have a bunch of messed up files and i would really like to use 'find and replace' to clean up the files. I'd like to be able to use '?' (meaning single character) and '*' (means any characters) to speed up my work.

As an example i have many files which have:

03 - [name]
04 - [name]
05 - [name]
06 - [name]
07 - [name]

rather than doing it manually, or by number i'd like to type in "?? - " and replace that with nothing (ie. delete all that text).

Find and replace doesnt seem to recognise the ? symbol with this functionality. Is there another way of doing it?

so what are you trying to clean up the "name field or the file name?

if it is the file name then you can do that easyly if it is the name field, then you will be basicly working manual.

I don't think there is a "wildcard" for search and replace

its the name field. they were not imported properly so some of the names are :

[track number] - [name]

i know i could renmae the files from tage then reimport, but there arent enough to bother with that.

wildcards would be nice though...

You could probably use "Fill Properties From Filename" in this case.

Well, Wildcards would be a really long time requested feature for MC11!
