When I play a dvd using MJ i can hear it, but no picture, can anyone help?? Please

You don't get any error messages in MJ?  You're viewing the "playing now" window, right?
Does the DVD player that came with your system work ok?
Maybe try a different video resolution (like 800x600).
Please post your system info here (from MJ's help menu).

I have tried different resoloutions, and am viewing playing now?? has me stumped, i do have win dvd also but prefer Mj for all my =media?? windows media player runs the same, audio no video, thanks for your help

It sounds like the mpeg2 video decoder you have installed only works with winDVD. It's strange that you don't get an error message from MJ though.
You could try installing a different mpeg decoder, try the link on this page for "Free DVD filters":
