Auto playin of CD
« on: October 26, 2002, 12:40:33 am »

HI,

How do I disable Auto play on a CD.  Evertime I insert a CD MJ automatically open and plays the CD.  I uncheck every file association associated with a CD file.  and I un check the box at the bottom that says " associate with CD"  the only way I've be able to stop MJ from auto play is if I have another app set to a CD association.

So, How can I set it so no app plays my CD?

You have to turn off auto insert in Windows.  Try a search at google for how to do it.

HI Jim,  I'm also having another problem I thought you could help me with it as well,  The problem I'm having is when I put a burned CD into my computer to rip and encode it, MJ is unable to read the title or the track names.  I also have realone player, which I use to download to an MP3 player.  I put the same disk in and use realone to rip, and realone is able to tell me the CD info.  Why is that?  If I put in a pressed CD, MJ has no problem reading the CD info.  It seems to be accuring only with the burned CD's.  How can I correct this and get the info?  the info is on/out there somewhere.  What is the reason for this?

I've been reading some posting re: Yadb and cddb,  Is this related?  If so, what corrections are coming?

thank you,

Just hold the Shift key down for 5 seconds or so after inserting CD. Temporarily disables Auto Insert Notification.
