Smartlist time working?
« on: January 14, 2005, 09:45:52 am »

I have had a smartlist set up so I can get 8 hours of music for the work day. I noticed recently that it is not getting 8 hours worth but much less. I just installed MC 11 version 174 and it still did the same thing. For the 8 hours I specified, it gave me 6:24 worth. Here's the smartlist:

[media type]=[audio] ~sort=[Random] ~t=480 ~limit=-1,2,[Artist] ~nodup=[Artist],[Name] [Last Played]=>=4320

Am I misunderstanding something about the time specified or is this a bug?

Put the time limit at the end.

Also, run it without the time limit to make sure enough files match the other criteria.

Time limit at the end made it work. That seems weird to have to be in a specific order to make it work, but thanks!

Modifiers with ~ are evaluated in order.

If you limit to 8 hours, then remove duplicates, you'll have less than 8 hours.

Ahhh, got it. But it's funny that I would usually come up with about 6 1/2 hours worth every time with the old smartlist. Out of 5000 songs, it's interesting that it picks up that many duplicates. But now that I understand the processing in order, I can make my smartlists a little smarter.  ;)
