I accidentally put 2 backslashes in the replacement path when I used 'Tools > Library Tools > Find and Replace... > tick only Filename (path), Find What: D:\, Replace: E:\' so I got  E:\\[Filename].  Now when I try to correct this using the same method, I get a tagging error message, and the filename reverts back to the double backslash name - anyone know how I can sort this one out?  Thanks in advance..

I have previously stumbled on this too. If MC finds the files it also tries to move them. If the current paths are invalid MC agrees to change only the paths.

As marko said the solution is to hide the files before opening MC and changing the paths.

Thanks guys - I managed to solve it before reading this, in a strange way:

After KingSparta's ReplaceMaster plugin failed to solve the problem, I tried re-importing one of the files, which resulted in MC attributing all the tags from the '\\' file to the newly imported one (great - that's what I was worried about losing, obviously!), but the strange aspect was that it decided to rename all the '\\' files with '(1)' at the end..
?

Anyway, all I had to do then was 'fix broken links', and MC removed all the old '\\' files, leaving me with my tags and directory structure intact..  Whew!
